Updated: Apr 5

As Pride month is approaching, I was inspired to make this bright and cheerful dungaree shorts literally full of hearts and definitely love.

It took me a few days to figure out the heart-centred granny square, but finally I got the one I'm satisfied with. After getting the size of the squares right, assembling them was a breeze.

Using a larger hook than recommended helps to make the shorts stretchy and easy to pull up. Since it's stretchy, the totally length of a row of squares should be slightly shorter than the length of your hips.

This is actually my second try of rainbow dungaree shorts. The shorts of the first version was made of rounds of linked triple crochet with a ribbed waistband. I totally love how they looked. Unfortunately, the waistband wasn't stretchy enough. It was a bit difficult to put on and take off. Being a perfectionist and frogging princess as I am, they were ripped. And here come this new version.
